About this tool
The Pomodoro technique splits work into focus blocks — classically 25 minutes — separated by short breaks, with a longer break after every four blocks. This timer runs the cycle for you: press Start, focus until the sound, rest, and it moves on to the next phase by itself if you want. You can change every duration, skip a phase, and see how many focus blocks you completed today. The time also shows in the browser tab, so you can keep working in another tab. Everything runs in your browser.
How to use it
- 1 Keep the default 25/5/15 minutes or set your own durations.
- 2 Press Start and focus until the sound.
- 3 Take the break; the next focus block starts automatically (you can turn this off).
- 4 Check how many focus blocks you finished today.
Frequently asked questions
How does the Pomodoro technique work?
Work on one task for a focus block (25 minutes by default), then take a 5-minute break. After four blocks, take a longer break of 15 to 30 minutes. The fixed rhythm makes it easier to start and to avoid distractions.
Does the timer keep running in another tab?
Yes. It follows the real clock, so it stays right even if the tab is in the background, and the remaining time shows in the tab title. Keep the tab open to hear the sound.
Is my count saved?
Only today’s number of focus blocks, and only in this browser. It starts again at zero the next day.
